Topping-Out Ceremony Marks Highest Construction Point

10/28/2010 12:00:00 AM

A topping-out ceremony held on Sept. 30, 2010, marked a milestone in the construction of the new Arkansas Urology campus in North Little Rock. Arkansas Urology physicians, staff, administrators and special guests watched as an evergreen was unveiled at the highest construction point at 4200 Stockton Drive.

Among those in attendance included North Little Rock Senior Alderman Murry Witcher, Arkansas Urology CEO John Hutton and invited guests. The placing of an evergreen tree upon a structure during a topping-out ceremony symbolizes growth and is believed to bring good luck.

“This state-of-the-art clinic demonstrates our long-standing mission to providing quality urological care to the North Little Rock community,” Hutton said. “We pledge our continued commitment to offer the latest in diagnostic, treatment and surgical care to Arkansans with prostate cancer, incontinence issues, kidney stones or other urological conditions.”

Dr. Ron Kuhn, one of the lead physicians at Arkansas Urology’s North Little Rock campus, thanked the North Little Rock community for its support. “We are privileged to be a part of this community and to provide North Little Rock residents with compassionate, expert urological care,” Kuhn said. “Our experienced team of physicians will continue exceeding the quality health care expectations of this vibrant central Arkansas community.”

Arkansas Urology President Dr. Keith Mooney discussed the clinic’s expansion and commented on features of the new facility. “This campus will provide our patients with the most advanced urological technology and an expanded complement of services in a larger space that is more accessible and convenient for them,” Mooney said.

Arkansas Urology has served North Little Rock since 2000 in a 3,000-square-foot space at the nearby Baptist campus. The new Arkansas Urology clinic is a 15,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility that features eight exam rooms and two cystocopy rooms. CT imaging, microwave therapy, needle ablation and diagnostic ultrasound capabilities are among the services that will be offered on-site.

Drs. Ron Kuhn and Edwin Diaz will be the lead physicians at the new North Little Rock campus. Dr. John David Terrell will join the clinic in August 2011.

Completion of the new facility is scheduled for April 2011. Kincaid Development Partners is the developer for the building project, Cromwell Architects Engineers is the architect and Clark Contractors is the contractor.
